The team at Lake Chalice are thrilled to announce that our 2020 Lake Chalice Plume Chardonnay has been awarded 5 stars, first place in Cuisine Magazine’s NZ and International Chardonnay tasting #219. This is not our first time achieving this prestigious rating, as our Lake Chalice Plume Chardonnay 2016 was also rated 5 stars and first place in the 2022 Cuisine tasting. We take great pride in our boutique approach to winemaking and are humbled to receive this back-to-back recognition of the quality and reputation that we strive to uphold.

The 2020 vintage of our Lake Chalice Plume Chardonnay is something that we are incredibly proud of. Winemaker Chloe has a passion for creating exceptional wines and only produces Plume in vintages she sees as being the very best in terms of quality and flavour intensity. Working alongside passionate Chardonnay growers Peter and Anne Reed, our team of experts has curated a wine that showcases the best of what Marlborough has to offer.

Our Plume Chardonnay is a beautifully balanced wine that is both complex and elegant. It boasts aromas of freshly baked pastries, citrus, and peach, with a hint of nuttiness and subtle oak. On the palate, the flavors of stone fruit and brioche are complemented by a crisp acidity and a long, lingering finish. The use of French oak and extended lees aging adds a depth and richness to the wine that is truly indulgent.
